Local Insight
Generative AI Agencies in Berlin
Generative AI in Berlin shows up as shipped interfaces rather than platform strategy. Lautmaler builds conversational systems: a chatbot for sipgate integrated across every service channel, and YOUNA, an LLM chatbot with a curated knowledge base supporting people affected by racism. Hybrid Heroes ships generative features inside products—Explory generates its city audio tours and the voice that narrates them, and is live in both app stores. wegewerk built an LLM chatbot for the Humanistischer Verband Berlin-Brandenburg and publishes its own generative extensions for summaries, alt text and plain-language versions of existing pages. The page has since more than doubled: ontolux runs Llama-based semantic search for Humboldt-Universität's H-Soz-Kult platform on the university's own GPUs, Contiamo built Brax's Product Text Wizard for generated product copy at catalog scale, Merantix Momentum has rolled out Cornelsen's Material Designer and Hamburg's LLMoin text assistant, and Ultra Tendency puts language models on top of the data platforms it engineers.
This is the category where a demo costs a weekend and a deployment costs a quarter. Ask to use the thing in production rather than in a sandbox, and ask what governs it when the model is wrong—a bounded knowledge base, an escalation path, quality metrics somebody actually reads. The firms named above publish enough of their method that the question has a checkable answer; the newest entries here publish an offer instead, which is a different thing.
