Manufacturing AI agencies with verified retainer client evidence — ranked by depth of documented work, then editorial quality.
Each listed agency documents retainer engagements on its own site or in a published case study; the model is never inferred from a service list.

About this list
Most of the manufacturing AI documented on this page runs in the office rather than on the line. Pexon Consulting's platform at Deutz, inside Deutz's own Azure tenant, reached more than 5,000 users, enforces department-level permissions at the retrieval step and cut freight-invoice checking from three days per batch to eight minutes; Liebherr's internal assistant reads a user's own mail and files under existing Entra rights. Squirro unified 45 or more data sources into a knowledge layer for Henkel and names Bühler and ZwickRoell. Ekimetrics' formulation system took a beauty manufacturer from 50 toward 500 approved formulas a year, published anonymously. Intunio's industrial relationships are long and design-led, Emerson's Rosemount Tank Radar software since 2021 and Electrolux Shape from 2018, and its site says custom model training and computer vision go to partners. Syncronika's manufacturing clients, Caffitaly, Armal and Sebach, are web, SAP-middleware and commerce engagements. Siili Solutions carries the tag with its documented AI at an insurer, and wukonig.com lists ams OSRAM as ongoing advisory without a published outcome. On the line, Lexunit built an on-premise machine-vision system at an Astotec auto-parts plant that recognizes the box type, counts parts and drives an OK/NOT OK display at the workstation, though its case pages are dated 2023.
Ask whether the retainer covers a system in the back office or on the shop floor, because the documented evidence leans to the first and line-side cases are few. For document and knowledge systems the operating questions are permissions, retraining as product documentation changes, and who inside the plant owns the index. For vision or predictive maintenance, ask who would train the model and who owns it when the retainer ends.

Expert Insight
Why Manufacturing experience matters
OT/IT gap navigation—Shop-floor data lives in historians, PLCs, and vendor-locked protocols the IT department doesn't own. Specialists have crossed that boundary before—they budget for data extraction as a first-class workstream instead of assuming a clean API exists
Feasibility honesty—Most predictive-maintenance failures trace to unlabeled or unrecorded failure history. Specialists run a data audit before quoting a model and will kill a use case cheaply; vendors who skip that step deliver demos calibrated on data you don't have
Operator acceptance—A quality-inspection or alerting system the line crew distrusts gets silenced within weeks. Specialists design alert thresholds, override paths, and feedback loops with the people running the machines, not just the plant manager who signed the purchase order
Drift management—Tool wear, material batches, and product changeovers shift the data underneath a deployed model. Specialists ship monitoring and retraining plans as part of delivery, because an inspection model frozen at handover degrades on a schedule you won't see coming
Frequently asked questions
18 agencies in our directory combine verified retainer client evidence with documented Manufacturing work. The current top-ranked are Storm Technology, Lexunit, Hiflylabs — ordered by depth of documented client evidence, then our editorial scoring (portfolio quality, credibility, completeness); placement is never paid.
Published rates across this page's agencies run €45–175 per hour (median ~€65). Project totals depend on scope — the rate index at /rates breaks the computed bands down by region, country and team size.
Every agency here documents retainer work on its own site or in a published case study, describing the engagement structure rather than a service-list claim. We never infer the model from portfolio tone, so this list only contains agencies that operate retainer engagements deliberately.
4 of the agencies on this page document an embedded / team-extension working model. See the team-extension page for the full verified list, or check the engagement chips on individual profiles.
