What we said about each

Our take on AGIgent

The one published study with numbers is anonymized: a CLIP pre-filter cascaded in front of a real-estate data provider's legacy image-matching algorithm, routing 90% of comparisons away from it for a 70-80% cut in processing cost at a 1% rise in error rate. The rest of the visible portfolio is staged research work—the GRIDFOR grid-forecasting project completed an ESA Kick-Start in August 2025 and lists its feasibility study as in execution, the PACAI antenna-calibration work is described as…

Our take on Lexunit

The Astotec study is the clearest deployment: a two-model machine-vision line in an auto-parts assembly plant that identifies the box type, counts the parts at 10 frames per second and drives an OK/NOT OK display at the workstation, built to run on-premise without internet access. The Wolters Kluwer Hungary tool that crawls, classifies and ranks web articles on legislation changes and the Nature Conservancy pipeline that pre-filtered 2. 3 million papers to 1.

Strengths and watch-outs

Both upsides and risks, straight from our editorial assessments.

AGIgent

Strengths

  • Partner roster names ESA and RAL Space (STFC, UKRI), with AGIgent as prime contractor on the ML4QS quantum-magnetometer denoising work
  • Three named founders with LinkedIn profiles, a stated address at Faulhorn Labs in Budapest and a named investor (Stockhorn Capital)
  • The engineering writing explains method choices—the cascade design in the image study, the tokenization and transparent-model posts—rather than name-dropping models

Watch-outs

  • The founder cards on the homepage still carry lorem-ipsum placeholder quotes and the blog stops in mid-2024—ask what the team looks like beyond the three founders
  • MAVIR, E.ON Hungária, ELMŰ, HungaroMet, ALTEO and Veolia appear as feasibility-study participants, not as paying clients—confirm the commercial relationship before counting them as references
  • The image-comparison study names no client and the RF signal work is under confidentiality—ask for a speakable reference

Lexunit

Strengths

  • Named testimonials from named people at Rolls-Royce Hungary, Atlas Copco Hungary, Wolters Kluwer Hungary, Hyundai Technologies Center Hungary and Profession.hu
  • Published rates of €45–85/h, under the EU €100–200/h band, for a portfolio with three named delivered systems
  • Case studies state the deployment constraints—on-premise, off-grid, 10 fps, weekly plan cadence—which is what an industrial buyer needs to judge fit

Watch-outs

  • Case-study pages are dated August 2023 and the footer copyright reads 2023—ask for a recent reference
  • The team page names a CEO, founder, CTO and head of growth and describes the team as founders, IT professionals and PhDs—ask who built the Astotec vision models and whether they are still on staff
  • The Atlas Copco optimizer was verified on legacy data only—if you are buying a scheduling or optimization system, confirm it went live

Pricing math

What a 12-week engagement at one full-time equivalent (~480 hours) costs at each agency’s published rate. An arithmetic projection, not a quote — real scopes move with seniority mix and team shape.

AGIgent

Rate: €85-130/hr

€40,800–€62,400

Lexunit

Rate: €45-85/hr

€21,600–€40,800

At this scope the published midpoints are about €20,400 apart, with Lexunit lower. AGIgent publishes Public Sector work that Lexunit does not — that is the one difference on this page that bears on the gap. If your brief does not touch it, the gap is buying something this comparison cannot see.
