## About this market
Custom AI development is the deepest Lisbon category and the evidence quality varies more than the roster size suggests. DareData publishes the most checkable work: an invoice pipeline for NOS where a stated 65% of invoices are handled end to end without an operator, a simulation platform for COFICAB that tested over 50,000 cable designs virtually, and routing for Heineken. Twistag ships from a genuine Av. Berna office and names BMW, Mastercard and Defined.ai—its data-collection app connected 250,000-plus contributors across 70 languages and cut collection cycles from weeks to under a fortnight. Altar.io publishes 25 case studies with AI substance in several, including a compliance-rules system for the Swiss RegTech Apiax. Closer Consulting and BI4ALL bring the enterprise data-platform end, though BI4ALL's published cases describe the architecture without naming the client.

That last distinction is the useful screen here. Some of these firms name the client and the number; others name neither and describe the system. Both can be verified, but only by asking different questions—for the named work, ask what happened after the pilot; for the anonymous work, ask who operates it now. The published hourly bands on this page run around €45-85, which is well under the European median and the main commercial reason to look at Lisbon at all.
