## About this market
Ongoing work in Budapest splits by what is being kept running. Some firms here operate models: HolistiCRM describes automated retraining and scoring on the recommender it built for Delivery Hero's Hungarian brand, which reports open rates up 250 percent, and Dmlab's platform for Central Energy Trade Hungary Group forecasts solar output and demand, trades against those forecasts and raises an alert when it stops behaving, with ongoing monitoring after rollout. Hiflylabs has kept dedicated data-science resources in a client's data unit for more than three years, and MOL Group's pricing system was measured over six months of business-as-usual operation.

Others operate business systems with AI still ahead. VisualLabs has supported ZNZ Preventive Technologies since 2020 and extended Kontron's Dynamics 365 from North America to European entities; Grepton supports Business Central estates with fixes and version updates; Lexunit describes product lifecycle maintenance. Neuron Solutions sells a third thing: its AgentIQ agents, which it fine-tunes and operates, and a four-phase change management program moving an organization from unstructured to governed AI use.

A Budapest buyer should decide which of those is being bought before comparing fees. A retraining contract should name the metric watched and the threshold that triggers retraining; a systems-support contract should say where AI enters the roadmap; an enablement program should say what your people can run without the firm afterward. The curator's watch-outs point the same way: ask what is in production today.

## Questions buyers ask

### How many AI agencies work with retainer in Budapest?
7 agencies in our directory combine verified retainer client evidence with a Budapest base. The current top-ranked are Lexunit, Hiflylabs, HolistiCRM — ordered by depth of documented client evidence, then our editorial scoring (portfolio quality, credibility, completeness); placement is never paid.

### How much does an AI agency cost in Budapest?
Published rates across this page's agencies run €20–130 per hour (median ~€65). Project totals depend on scope — the rate index at /rates breaks the computed bands down by region, country and team size.

### How is the retainer model verified?
Every agency here documents retainer work on its own site or in a published case study, describing the engagement structure rather than a service-list claim. We never infer the model from portfolio tone, so this list only contains agencies that operate retainer engagements deliberately.

### Can these agencies embed consultants with our team?
3 of the agencies on this page document an embedded / team-extension working model. See the team-extension page for the full verified list, or check the engagement chips on individual profiles.
